Seraphlings are a closed species created by OMNIDAD, and you may not make your own without explicit permission (e.g. a MYO slot).

Definitions

A closed species is a unique creature with set anatomy and a community surrounding it that you must buy, trade, or be gifted to acquire one of your own.

Even if you are a non-owner, you may participate in the community by drawing giftart for others or drawing the NPCs, and you can do almost all things without spending a penny, if you're dedicated.

The goal of closed species is to foster a tight knit art community that inspires you to create and tell stories.

✧Masterlist - a dictionary keeping track of official Seraphlings and verifying they are apart of the species and approved

✧Adopt - a premade design made with the purpose of selling/trading to a new owner

✧Cooldown - a set time for which you cannot gift/trade/sell your slot or character, encouraging you to bond with or design it.

✧NPC - "non player character" a community owned character

✧UFT - "Up for trade"

✧OTA - "offer to adopt"

✧MYO - "Make your own"

✧TOS - "terms of service"

✧CoC - "code of conduct"

Trade rules

All premade Seraphlings on the masterlist under your name can be traded or gifted with a 7 day cooldown since last transfer.

You can only sell for a set price a Seraphling if they have more than one art piece (often proven by a gallery on Toyhouse, but not required). You may not buy an adopt and "scalp" it by immediately reselling it for a higher price. It is your responsibility to ensure the Seraphling is on the masterlist and official before going through with a trade. Please resolve conflicts in private and message mods for help if you need it.

You may voucher your Seraphling the same way you would go about selling them, but you cannot voucher them for something indeterminate of value (e.g. an adopt for auction), it must be a set, known price.

Undesigned MYO slots and designs without any extra art can only be gifted or traded, and cannot be sold or vouchered.

There is a 7 day cooldown for MYOs and designs without extra art, meaning you cannot gift/trade/sell one month of acquiring it, encouraging you to think about what you want to design.

Once you design your slot and make/acquire extra art for your design, the cooldown ends automatically and you may trade/gift/sell them as you see fit.

If you are caught cheating people out of trades, faking Seraphlings off the masterlist, or scalping, we reserve the right to restrict or even remove you from the Seraphling community.

Code of Conduct

Unspoken social rules are, well, unspoken most of the time, but here I will be outlining general courtesy that will help you get along and make friends in the community, and define poor behavior. In general, treat others how you would like to be treated, with kindness and consideration, and you should be alright.

✧hateful or spiteful or passive aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with someone, resolve it in private or among mods if it violates the TOS, but if it is personal problems, mods are not responsible and cannot help you. Keep it civil and block if you need to.

✧no gossip or bad mouthing other people or species, no matter how interesting or bad it is. Take that to private.

✧participate in conversation and try to stay mostly on topic if others are talking about something. Randomness is only funny to a point, and too much is annoying.

✧comment on other's hard work (designs, art, and writing) before posting your own. Everyone loves hearing compliments, so might as well spread the love so you can get some love!

✧bad faith questions, designs, or art to spite members or mods can be turned down and a basis on which to restrict participation in the community. In general, put effort in your designs/art, and don't test people's patience. (E.g. hiding a hateful symbol in a design to see if it'll pass without being noticed, making a character design based on a slur, making a revenge art piece depicting someone's character in a humiliating way). If you have hatred as your inspiration to create, people will notice, and it won't be tolerated.

✧cultural appropriation is not appreciation. Do not design or draw your character in sacred garments or regalia from real life cultures unless you are from that culture (e.g. war bonnets, feather headdresses). Designs based on closed religions will be denied (e.g. W//digos, skinw//kers). Be more creative.

✧As much as shows and movies inspire us, please do not make a design taken from a copy written source, to keep things original and keep Seraphlings safe from legal trouble. You can be very loosely inspired by ideas from shows.

✧Character theft, unsolicited offers, and copying are frowned upon and grounds for removal from the community.
